What is Unhinged LA?
Unhinged is a new source for unique events, varying perspectives, strange happenings, underground or outerground parties, and thoughtful culture in Los Angeles. We seek the hedonistic, free-spoken, life affirming event and often enough we like it free.
What we're missing around LA is the urban performance art, a house party staged on the metro with body surfing or by a city pool or reservoir without water but with a brass band and circus clowns.
Mountain and loft parties, puppet shows synced to garage music, bake-offs at 180 beats per minute, late night bike tours, costume balls, instant beach art, movies in unusual places, unlicensed parades, outlaw slip and slides, extravagant variety shows, benefits for the non existent and random games of dodgeball. We like things that are abnormally fun - maybe with a jump rope - hopefully with a DJ; a great cause like a car free LA or a costumed only drive lane on the 105 are good too. We follow that which often comes without an identity, a name or often enough a time.

The unique and exciting drive us in. We're looking for events every week, but we need your help. If you have a venue or event that fits this mold please share it with us and we'll start shouting. The important thing to remember is that Unhinged LA happens only because of you. That means we rely on you to let us know what events you're organizing and what events you're attending. Please keep us up to date and don't assume that we'll find out about it from someone else. We gather, edit, organize, and filter; your job is to make interesting things happen and let us know about them. Please remember to include all the important information, like the address and a brief description. One other; events that happen in bars, clubs, say with a band and a general manager and whatnot are great, but we're not the place for it. You can try Timeout LA for that.
